Sail alongside the USS Constitution aboard a Tall Ship
Cruise with the USS Constitution in Boston
- The USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world and is based in Boston’s Charlestown Navy Yard. There is a Boston-area myth which says that in order for Constitution to remain a commissioned vessel in the United States Navy, she must get underway in Boston Harbor at least once every year. This is a myth – “Old Ironsides” would remain in commission whether or not she undertook a yearly harbor cruise.
- Celebrate America while sailing a tall ship and viewing the USS Constitution as she transits Boston Harbor. This annual event is always a blast. “Old Ironsides” passes Castle Island and fires a 21-gun salute at exactly 12 noon on the Fourth of July! During the event, the Liberty Fleet offers a historical review of the ship and her rigging, using our own ship as a reference. We enjoy a cook-out while under way on this sail (note: one non-alcoholic beverage is included with lunch). We invite you to spend a memorable and patriotic July 4th aboard Liberty Clipper & Liberty Star!
What to Bring
As it can be breezy on the water (even in a heat wave) you may want to bring a light pullover or sweater with you. We have a cash bar onboard offering mixed drinks and beer/wine. If you prefer to use a credit card, drink tickets can be purchased online before your cruise.
