Experienced Christmas on the Liberty Clipper for 6 days!

Experienced Christmas on the Liberty Clipper for 6 days!

We made it back to port safe and sound! What a wonderful experience sailing on the Liberty Clipper in the Bahamas for Christmas. The crew was great and made me feel so safe and at home aboard the boat. Food was awesome (thanks Jan!) and now unfortunately I'm back on my diet. Hope we can do this again in the future sometime. Love Sailing Tall Ships.

  Thanks for everything!

Enjoying Thanksgiving Under Sail on the Liberty Star in the BVI

Enjoying Thanksgiving Under Sail on the Liberty Star in the BVI

We just kicked off our season on the Liberty Star this past Sunday! We're having a blast so far and I can only imagine what treats that cook Sue has in store for us later today. We welcomed our guests aboard on Sunday evening at Red Hook and had a nice reception for them with some goodies from the galley and just one or two cold beverages...

b2ap3_thumbnail_SailingtoJVD.jpg

On Monday morning, we started the week sailing from St Thomas to Jost Van Dyke and were able to visit Bubbly Hole that morning before heading ashore to Foxy's for a fun filled Monday night...  On Tuesday, we sailed across to Virgin Gorda stopping a few times along the way and spent the night anchored in Gorda Sound. I loved swinging in a hammock for the afternoon ashore at Leverick Bay. Yesterday, we spent the night at Trellis and went ashore to listen to a band - loved it!  Today we find ourselves sailing to Norman Island, we're going into the treasure caves and then to the Willie T's tonight for a little post turkey celebration.

What an INCREDIBLE way to celebrate a 60th birthday aboard a windjammer in the British Virgin Isles

What an INCREDIBLE way to celebrate a 60th birthday aboard a windjammer in the British Virgin Isles
Where do we begin to tell you what a wonderful adventure you have given us? We set sail on December 2, Don's 60th birthday from St. Thomas on the Liberty Star. Perfect weather, a perfect start to the 7th decade. Thank you for introducing us to schooner life aboard the Liberty Star, to hoisting sails, coiling the sheets and halyards, knot tying; to your favorite snorkeling spots, beaches, bars, the glass blowing and Caldwell distillery in Cane Garden Bay, and the adventure of Captain Long Jon Anchor Gone Wrong, off of Sailor's Rest.
You have each in your own way, with your own unique talents, skills, and passions, enriched our experience. Together you form an integral team and have, this week, welcomed us into your sea faring family in the Caribbean.
We hope that our paths will cross again and, in the interior, encourage you to fulfill your dreams.
You are all awesome! Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Friends for life aboard the Liberty Clipper for our New Years Windjammer cruise!

Friends for life aboard the Liberty Clipper for our New Years Windjammer cruise!

Many, Many thanks to the Liberty Clipper, Captain Chris and crew-Mike, Maggie, Derek, Tom, Eric, Jan and Sean- For a wonderful start to 2013 with this trip of a lifetime. Each day was filled with beautiful sights, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, scenic beaches, clear waters and happy sounds!

The clicks of multiple cameras capturing images of playful dolphins, hearty "Heave Ho's!" as the sails were raised, shared laughter.

Very special thanks to the Captain and Crew for taking  care of us, putting up with us, and patiently answering our myriad of landlubber questions. Extra kudos to Jan and Sean for feeding us SO well!

Also thanks to our trip mates, Rosemary, Paul, Theresa, Billy, Heather, Tony, Audrey, John, Corinne, Bob, Charlene, Doug, Anna, Mike, Sam and Mary - Thank you for sharing this AMAZING experience aboard this Bahamas Tall Ship!

Fun and great memories during vacation Sailing the Bahamas on a Schooner!

Fun and great memories during vacation Sailing the Bahamas on a Schooner!

So glad Captain Matt was sailing on the Liberty Clipper this week I had off of work. What a great 30th birthday to remember with cousin Megan, Captain Matt and of course Bess. Snorkeling, climbing aloft, seeing dolphins swim at the bow, a sea turtle at The Glass Window, reading, playing Liar's Dice and Bananagrams. Thanks to the wonderful crew for making this tall ship cruise in the Bahamas so enjoyable. Oh! and for Schooner Olympics - probably my favorite!

Great time spearfishing, sailing a Windjammer and enjoying the Bahamas Tall Ship style with Tony!

Great time spearfishing, sailing a Windjammer and enjoying the Bahamas Tall Ship style with Tony!

Merci Beaucoup!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the LC. Except for the time when we slept through the great sailing, when Eric threw our drink away :(, and when Tom kept leaving his galoshes all over the boat. Highlights included Tony spearing the Lionfish, sunny weather, Junkanoo, Eleuthera and all the fantastic hard work that the crew put in to make our experience fantastic!

P.S. The dishes were SPARKLING!

Sailing and Exploring the Caribbean Islands aboard a beautiful classically rigged Tall Ship!

Sailing and Exploring the Caribbean Islands aboard a beautiful classically rigged Tall Ship!

We have always wanted to sail around the islands of the Bahamas and go into the coves where others don't go.  This trip was excellent!  The crew worked together and provided whatever was asked.  The first night we met up some of the crew for a fish fry- had the "conch" experience. From there on, the trip on the Liberty Clipper was nothing but wonderful.

Thanks so much <3

A beautiful windjammer voyage in the Caribbean

A beautiful windjammer voyage in the Caribbean

From Duluth,

The ship looked beautiful when we first saw it and the 6 day voyage was just as beautiful.  The crew was also great, including the chef who made us tons of food each day.  We had lots of fun and enjoyed the off ship islands.  We would do it again on Liberty Clipper!

Amazing week in the Exumas aboard the perfect windjammer

Amazing week in the Exumas aboard the perfect windjammer

WOW! What a week! We both agree sailing the Bahamas on a Tall Ship has been one of the best weeks of our lives. Our adventures around the Exumas included crystal clear waters, white soft sandy beaches, wild iguanas and swimming swine, as well as the colorful fish and exotic reefs.

The crew (including Captain Chris, Jon, Jan & Jason (chefs), Shawn, Clint, Amanda, Maggie & Mike) were AMAZING! Thanks for a fantastic week with so many highlights, we loved our Windjammer Cruise!

We will be returning from Australia to do it all again.

Lots of love,

The Aussies - Sarah & Luke xoxo

Dream wedding on the Beach courtesy of a Tall Ship Windjammer in the Bahamas!

We had our dream island wedding on board the Liberty Clipper.  It was better than our expectations.  Captain chose a perfect spot for the occasion.  Jan and Jason served a perfect dinner topped with a perfect rum cake.  The whole crew and all the passengers joined in the celebration and made our day a PERFECT day and as well as a memorable one.

Third time aboard the Windjammer Liberty Clipper in the Bahamas for vacation!

It was such a joy to come back to the Bahamas for a third time of sailing on my first tall ship love, the Liberty Clipper.  Going to the Exumas was really a dream come true; so I really want to thank Captain Chris for making that happen, and thank you to the awesome crew for making it so much fun and so memorable.  Fair winds and following seas to Chris, Jon, Maggie, Clint, Jan, Sean, Amanda, Jason and Mike.  I will think of your often and hope we meet again someday.

My dream vacation sailing a windjammer in the Exuma islands!

My dream vacation sailing a windjammer in the Exuma islands!

Woohoo!

It's hard to find the words to describe the pure joy we found this week aboard the Liberty Clipper.  It wasn't just a vacation in the Caribbean, or an adventure in sailing the Bahamas, or a voyage through the Exuma Isands; it was so much more.  We have dreamed of cruising on a tall ship for years; why did we let life get in the way before!?!  It's all about the memories.  To all of the crew: Captain Matt, Jon, Clint, Derrick, Sean, Tom, Amanda, Jan, and Mike, you wove yourselves into our hearts and memories.  To all-follow your dreams, keep expounding your dreams, and conquer your fears (like climbing to the cross tree platform-how incredible!).

It was so much fun being able to work with the crew on the ship!  We were able to do everything we talked about.  Thank you all for making this a vacation we will remember forever.  May the Lord bless every one of you.

Sailing to the end of the world on a Classic Windjammer in the Bahamas

Great crew, thanks for attending so well to our enjoyment.  Amanda, Clint, Jon, Tom, Sean, Derrick, Jan, Mike, Captain Matt, Thank you all.  Thanks for taking us to the dolphin beach and almost to the end of the world in the peapod.

Also thank you for all the other many amazing experiences during this lovely week.  I do have to write my book eventually, and the Liberty Clipper will be a very good model for the Belmont Clipper in 1915.  Thanks for the best possible introduction to the real life of a sailing ship- although we were far more comfortable than the people I'm writing about would have been.

See you all again, I hope,

Marina Eudicott

Wonderful Crew and Great Time Sailing the Bahamas aboard a classic Tall Ship

Wonderful Crew and Great Time Sailing the Bahamas aboard a classic Tall Ship

What a fantastic trip sailing the Bahamas! The crew did an amazing job anticipating everyone's needs and made sure we all walked away happy - no mean feat with all of our different lists!  :)

Buck checked a lot of his boxes on this trip - Chris and Abe were always patient explaining the intricacies of sailing.  Greg was an excellent rigging and coconut coordinator - Nick, Sam and Christine were great entertainment. Don - Thanks for keeping her running and we loved Sue and Margi's food! The crew speaks volumes about the ship, we loved the Liberty Clipper - we had a wonderful time and would love to come back and Sail the Virgin Islands...
